Introduction

Social stories are designed to give a person with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Learning Disability social information. This workshop will give you an opportunity to learn what social stories are and how to write them.

 

Aim

To increase your understanding and confidence in writing/creating social stories.

 

Training methods

A combination of presentation and practise.

 

Learning outcomes

You will have:
A better understanding of what a social story is
Learned about why we may write social stories
Had an opportunity to practice writing social stories

 

Who should attend?

Professionals working with children and young people with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Learning Disability who would be able to read/understand a story with/without pictures.
 
Please note: priority will be given to people working in Fife.
