workshop for professionals

Introduction

Social stories are designed to give a person with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Learning Disability social information. This workshop will give you an opportunity to learn what social stories are, and how to write social stories.

 

Aim

To increase your understanding and confidence in writing/creating social stories.

 

Training methods

A combination of presentation and practise.

 

Learning outcomes

You will have:
A better understanding of what a social story is.
Learned about why we may write social stories.
Had an opportunity to practise writing social stories.

 

Who should attend?

This workshop is for professionals working with children and young people with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Learning Disability who would be able to read or understand a story with or without pictures.
 
Please note: priority will be given to people working in Fife.
